Now that the school year is ending, we venture into the Summer of Activity. For the oldest, she has 2 basketball games left, as well as about a month of softball. This doesn’t count the numerous after school parties and events she’ll be invited to all summer long. For the middle daughter, cheerleading will start in late June/early July, and continue into the new school year. For the youngest, soccer will start in the fall, and this summer she will be getting ready for her first year of all day school(1/2 day this year). In addition, my wife is going through some changes as well: first of all, she has gone back to work after over 10 years at home, working part time as an LPN. Secondly, she is going back to school starting this summer to turn her LPN into an RN. That means that starting this fall my wife will be going to school and working, and the kids will all have school all day, so we will be that family that everyone seems to be turning into: Everyone leaves in the morning, and then everyone comes home in the afternoon and talks about their day, trying to fit in dinner, homework, practices, housework, errands, etc., in the few hours before bed. While I applaud my wife for working AND going to school(I know I could never pull it off), I kind of feel sad about her not being at home anymore. I’m not the kind of guy who wants his wife to wait on him or anything, but it almost made the house more of a home for her to be there when I got home. Plus, I sort of think that I maybe can’t provide as well as I should because now she’s going out into the workforce to help bring money home.

Does anyone else have problems like that, or am I a total weirdo? Don’t answer that.
